I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Phone Theft Alert Please remain vigilant We will like to make residents aware of a phone theft that occurred in the ward on 2nd March 2026 at approximately 19:00 hours.
A suspect riding a bicycle approached a member of the public and snatched their phone before making off from the area. Incidents of this type often happen quickly and offenders may target people who have their phones in public spaces.
If a phone theft occurs, please report it to police as soon as possible by calling 999 while the incident is still recent. Providing a clear description of the suspect, direction of travel, and any distinguishing features can assist officers in quickly deploying to the area and may increase the chances of locating the suspect and recovering the phone.
If you witness suspicious behaviour or believe someone may be targeting phones in the area, please report it. You can contact police by: calling 101 if non-emergency or reporting online via the Met Police Website. Dialling 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
